A Revelation! The REVELATION R03 Chronograph

The title is by no means boasting... This watch is called the REVELATION R03 Chronograph - and was spotted on my wrist by an eagle-eyed fellow purist over the weekend (Wristscan).
Hence this posting where I'd like to share a few shots and comments about this watch, rarely seen in the wild but nonetheless fascinating every time I look at its multiple angles.

REVELATION is a relatively young independent Swiss brand which I believe has great potential and showcases very innovative concepts, such as the dial of this sporty looking Chronograph, which with a 90 degree smooth twist of its bezel turns from 100% jet black to a perfectly see-through crystal surface, revealing a beautifully decorated movement including a date wheel.








The movement is a heavily modified and skeletonized ETA 2892 with a Dubois Depraz Chronograph module on top, with many parts newly developed and produced; the exquisite case alone is made out of over 50 components and is produced by Christian Gros, who specializes in small production runs for other watch brands like Richard Mille and Urwerk.



The watch wears relatively large at 45mm but sits comfortably on the wrist due to the flat caseback. The R03 is also available in Titanium with an additional complication or in Rosegold; worth mentioning is also the very supple Barenia calf leather strap which makes the watch easier to wear for smaller wrists than the also great rubber strap - both use the same nice folding clasp.
