Twelve Opus Two commemorative books from Harry Winston Rare Timepieces

Dear PuristS,

We recognize the deep appreciation your community has for haute horlogerie and would like to pay our respects to this by offering community members who are interested up to twelve copies (one per person, please) of a limited edition commemorative book dedicated to the Opus Two project.

Opus is a unique creative adventure undertaken by Harry Winston Rare Timepieces and based on the idea of creating each year an exceptional timepiece in partnership with one of Switzerland?s most gifted independent horological creators.

April 2003 will see the end of the Opus Two year (with Antoine Preziuso) and the launch of Opus 3 during the upcoming Basel Fair.

To commemorate the Opus Two event and the unique timepieces of this series, Harry Winston published a limited edition book retracing the amazing story of the collaboration between Harry Winston and Antoine Preziuso. The Opus Two project is all about people: artisans, engineers, craftsmen and women, who together dreamed two unique timepieces. This book is their story and a tribute to their achievement.

12 books are reserved for the members of ThePuristS.com community. Should you be interested in owning this collector's book, we kindly invite you to send an e-mail to ThePuristS.com:

Please be sure to include your full name, complete mailing address (including country) and a contact phone number.

We hope you will enjoy learning more about this fascinating adventure.

Sincerely yours,

Harry Winston Rare Timepieces

About the Opus Two project:

Opus Two is the second round in a series of joint creative ventures undertaken by Harry Winston Rare Timepieces. Two complicated timepieces were created in partnership with the Geneva master watchmaker Antoine Preziuso, member of the ?Acad?mie des horlogers-cr?ateurs ind?pendants? (AHCI) and known internationally for his refined interpretations of the great complications.

One watch is a tourbillon, whose construction Preziuso describes as ?performing on the high wire without a net?. The other, a tourbillon with a perpetual calendar on its reverse side, is the first timepiece to present this particular back-to-back configuration. Making the two movements mesh while the hands moved in opposite directions was a masterpiece of mechanical programming. Both watches feature highly original openwork movements, which introduce a new form of engraving, in a rayonn? or sunray pattern.

The Opus Two models are housed in one of the most technically complex cases that Harry Winston has ever created. The Opus Two case features the first screwed-in case back in the history of the firm. Each case is unique, as cover and hinge and case-band are created for each other and cannot be interchanged. The perpetual calendar also features a sprung back cover, pierced to reveal the two most important pieces of information, the day and date.

Opus Two is offered in a limited series of just twenty-four pieces, twelve of each model.
