Well, not OUR Alex... ![]()
I received the Sotheby's catalog for a Geneva based sale of "A Collection of 69 Exceptional 20th Century Watches." In the section containing 7 VC's(six watches and a clock), was lot 60, a rectangular two-tone(YG case/WG lugs) watch with an engraving on the caseback. The monogram "identifies the watch most likely having belonged to King Aleksander I of the kingdoms of Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia."
King Alex was assassinated by a Macedonian terrorist. May our Alex have a better fate.

PS-Our Alex may be interested in the two VC chronos for sale at this auction. And the minute repeater(presale estimate US$100,000-150,000)!
