Aesthetics.
As RCM,below in his interesting post,confess his "sins",I must confess mine.
In the beginning there was a doc who thought excactly like RCM.
Yes,I could have written his post a lot of years ago, nearly word for word, and that?s probably why his question caught me!
Revealing he has chosen a 1755, is a confirmation that he are an aesthete.
I would love order one myself, but I don?t feel 100% yet. About the same feeling I had for Dual Time Regulator when it came 3 years ago, but that feeling ended up in buying one as well.
I?m convinced, I might be like swearing in church, that the true common quality for Vacheron Constantin lovers are the aesthetics.
If you follow WatchRap or lurk around the other forums, you see how technical and performance oriented the discussions are.
Discussoins about wheels,springs,how many hundreds of meter below,split seconds,world time,new materials,co axial and a never ending trend focusing.
Not at VC forum,I would almost say never!
Here it?s about historical connections,capture of art in constantly change,aesthetic balance,if the guilloch? suits or not,the execution of the dial,the lugs and so on..
I would say that the band that hold us together is the aesthetics
