Always Special To Me: My 1st Mechanical Watch
Hello fellow PuristS,
I am sharing here a very special timepiece to me: my first mechanical watch, which is a Seiko 5.
SNZG17J1 - Did some thorough research, like how a watch lover would (no matter how cheap it may be), before buying the Japanese variant of this piece. Couldn't be happier to start off on the right track!
Over the years (not too many), the stock crystal picked up some 'scars', and I thought it'd be good to swap in an AR sapphire on it.
The result:
Not sure if I have broken the PuristS code by not being pure with the crystal, but I am pretty sure many would agree that it looks gorgeous with that blue AR sheen!
Hope you enjoy this as much as I do everytime I put this on!

Thanks Luis6! The PVD coating on this watch is tough!
Been my daily wear for a few years now, and no sign of the PVD wearing out. The mineral crystal suffered a few chips, and I thought sapphire crystal will help mitigate the issue away. Still can't get over how beautiful that blue shine the sapphire crystal...
