Horological Meandering

An affordable Forged Carbon...

A friend send me ablogtoread watch review link of an indie-watch called Tempest, then I received a whatsapp message from the watch creator and owner, Mr. Benjamin Fong. Such a small world, Ben is a Hong Kong Chinese but raised in Toronto, and he has been contacted by another good friend of mine. Sure, we met and he presented me with his own creation, Commodore, Viking and of course, the Forged Carbon. All three collections are diver's oriented models, in Stainless Steel, Titanium and Forged Carbon, all using Miyota automatic movement, some with date and some don't. All the watches are made to a high spec, using dome crystal without distortion and well constructed metal band. Always wanted a forged carbon watch but soaring prices on high end brand kept me away, until now. Ben assured me the one he has been wearing daily, no "flaking" commonly happened to forged carbon cases. Here are some photos I shot last night and this morning, I compared it with my Bell & Ross BR-01 Carbon Fiber watch, interesting to see the layered carbon fiber against the forged carbon... A no frill watch for all sporty events, at sea and on land, lightweight and a good size too, of course an affordable price for something different...

Cheers to all, and like to wish Ben for creating something exciting to collect... Ian
