Another not so frequent Seiko…
And a watch that I have been looking for longest, at over 7 years - the Seiko SUS SCFF003. This one and the black dial version (SCFF001) were amongst the watches relaunching high end mechanical watchmaking at Seiko (the movement deriving from a GS caliber from the 1970s) and the design was chosen to appeal to the Japanese youth in the early 1990s. Including the prestressed case (so it came with a certain degree of patina, like stone washed jeans of the era) and a military looking design that was selected from the historical archives by focus groups.
And in line with the theme of the WS of this month, it’s the watch I shared with Casey (may he rest in peace) and where he helped me with advice on where and how to find one in Japan 😊👍🏻

A very interesting watch from Seiko.
They should explore their rich heritage much more.
To a large extent they do already…
Probably not as extensively as the Swiss but on the bright side there is still more new stuff being created 😊👍🏻
I remember seeing Seiko's SUS line way back when, but I don't recall ever having come across a High Beat version.

It’s a Hi-Beat in the JLC / Seiko interpretation, where they attached the moniker to some 28800vph watches 😉👍🏻 Still, the 4S15 movement is a gem 💎
Ahh, thanks for the clarification - I'd mistakenly assumed it meant 36000vph.

I’ve seen a black dialed version of this watch but not silver. Does the black dialed variant have the same movement?
The dial is the only difference…
