Auction generated brands?
Okay. I'm new to this group, so I don't know whether I'm a WIS or not. I don't know how many watches I have, so maybe I am one. Anyway, I have noticed a proliferation of unfamiliar brands on auction sites; names like S.Coifman, CHRISTOFLE, Chronomat, PHILIP PERSIO, Pierce, Vincent Armania, Montres Allison, etc. Many of these list a price in the several thousands as the regular price, but the auctions start at $50 with no reserve. Frequently the names, like Chronomat, look similar to names like Chronoswiss. I have always believed that if something seems to be too good to be true, it probably is. Are all these guys chiselers? Do any of them have a history? One way to make an educated guess as to whether a Rolex is genuine is to see if the owner stepped out of a Mercedes. If my suspicians are valid, these guys hurt everyone; not just Chronoswiss and Rolex.
