Officine Panerai

Back home from a very very short...

... six day trip to Miami I brought back many nice memories.

Though it was a quick business trip it left some time to play with watches and camera and a visit to the beach in the mornings!

And of course to visit the Miami Boutique to take delivery of my Pam 687!

I'm delighted with the Pam 678. The dial is striking and can't pass unnoticed. The wire lug Radiomir case rides very comfortable on the wrist.

The only thing I don't like about this model is its depth rating: 30 meters!!

I feel a Panerai should have a rating of at least 200 meters to honor its historical past. I know that original Panerai weren't employed in depths beyond 66 feet/20 meters but a modern Pam definitively should have the 200 meters capability.

I understand a 30 meters rating means it is waterproof just to wash your hands or wet the watch in a rainy day.
I took my watch to a swim in the sea but I felt very uncomfortable and feel will never take it again to pool or sea though the watch resisted the experience.
I got other more suitable watches to swim or dive!

Well, that's only my personal point of view of course!
Otherwise I'm very happy with my new Panerai and like it very much except for this detail!

Cheers! Abel
