Baking of the Watch

I went to a large AD this weekend and noticed what I noticed many times before with other dealers and even with other brands-the watches are baking in the heat of the showcase. The watches are quite warm to the touch, maybe like 150 degrees in there and some have been discontinued so maybe they have been baking for months. I just can't understand how this can not do damage to the watch/strap and why this practice is so commonplace (with other brands as well). I know they want to show these watches in the greatest light, but for me, cooking is just unacceptable. Am I missing something here or is damage being done to these beautiful watches at these AD's.
