Basel 2017: Tudor Black Bay Chrono.
Perhaps the most interesting offer from Tudor / Rolex this year... The Tudor Black Bay Chrono is a 41 mm watch, in steel, with an in house chronograph movement!
The movement is the Cal MT 5813, automatic, with a silicium spiral, offering a power reserve of 70 hours.
The Black Bay Signature? The hour hand, of course.
Screw in pushers, reminding the Vintage Tudor Chronographs ref 7031 / 7032, as well as the two sub dials configuration, the date at 6 o' clock and the bezel.
The case is water resistant to 200 meters. The crown is screw in, too.
And the price, for such a watch, is quite fair, as it is under 5000 Euros.

why have a date? why so much text above the date? not sure about the snowflake hour hand but ok, signature... screw pushers and crown look great to me. on the contrary, price point very appealing. 200m water resistance is super, but wish some better swim ...

I wonder if they\'re entering one with this offering. That date is a no go. It almost feels like a blatant appeal to the commercial. I guess after doing all those very well thought out tributes that they\'re probably starting to lose a bit of creative ste...

I think it looks weird, even a bit ugly. Need to see it in real to judge better. I normally don't care about date windows, but this one looks really out of place.

And to be honest I find a date really useful. will have to see it in the metal when it comes out but I certainly find it an interesting mix of styles (pushers and bezel very old school Tudor with the addition of the snowflake hand regards Tim

Beside the date window, this is a very attractive watch, I like it.
From what I have seen so far, Basel 2017 has many well thought "retro" designs and a nostalgia for the 50s and 60s. Mostly done the smart way
Not bad... but... the use of snow flake hands ...
... is a detail I don't like at all in this chrono. It bothers me more than the date window which I can understand it is necessary to satisfy a larger group of possible buyers than traditionalists. I like the bezel and the red inscription on dial. I need ...
To me it's not a fluid design
The minute hand to me looks a tad thinned than the hour. The Black Bay is a diver tribute. I don't understand the tachymeter bezel which is commonly associated with speed measurement. It reminds me too much of the 8500 Speedmasters. I think this is a down...
I feel that it is an extension too far...
The BB 41mm I really like - this not so sure. The date is superfluous or could at least do with a cyclops, if one was to do it historically. And why one would need a Chrono in this line... Not convinced just yet - would need to see it live.

Designed by a committee. "Let's have Speedmaster lugs, Daytona bezel and pushers, snowflake hands and oh we'd better have a date". The hour hand almost obscures the sub seconds dial. Just my first thoughts. Regards Kev

coherent design overall with the exception of the date window and perhaps also agree on the snowflake hand as that should belong only into the divers. However, the overall package is very well done. CC
I think its a great peice
I liked it. I think it will be star. date is not a deal breaker having the perfect size, great looks, and good value for money proposition.
