BaselWorld 2011: Tim and Bart Grönefeld
Tim and Bart Grönefeld show their newest baby, the One Hertz.
On the dial the jumping seconds indication has top billing, the hours and minutes relegated to a minor position on a small dail at 2.
Most interesting is the movement, two barrels and two almost identical trains, one for the timekeeping and one for the jumping seconds. The bridges have a very unique look being made in stainless steel with one bridge per wheel.
The Grönefelds have succeeded in making a beautiful and original movement. You can not mistake it for anything else. In comparison to the movement the dial seems very plain. IMHO there is room for improvement for the next editions on the dial side.
I am looking forward to see what the Grönefeld brothers do next.

Thanks for sharing, Don. I absolutely love the 1Hertz ! A beautiful, understated piece, in my book ! IMO the dial is perfect for the (ironically?) mesmerising jumping seconds, and the push-to-select crown is very clever too. To top it all off, the Grö...
