Between Vianney Halter, FP Journe and P Dufour
Remember the thread we had in dec 30 2002 about who was going to be OPUS3?
It set me thinking about the directions of the above 3 revered members of the AHCI.
At the moment, that is for the coming 5 years...I see Vianney Halter as the rising star with him probably reaching icon status soon, especially with his very individualistic designs.His workmanship is impeccable. the numbers he makes are low, very low...but enough to create market presence. Not a single piece around for resale.
Journe seems to have been a risen star and as he is gearing up to make more pieces, i see his products gradually sucumbing to market pressure, looking at the recent designs...he seems to be on a creative plateau. Too many pieces around, i find them all over the grey market, and the second hand market.
Dufour is a typical blue chip...appeares at the TOP and stays at the TOP....does not rise or fall....dut not something to shout about because the designs are typically understated....hmmmm. Not a single piece floating around used or ortherwise.
If we had a dollar to spend, and wisely, which would you go for?
