Blancpain

Blancpain Question from a Newbie

 

Hi,

I am new to this site and am strongly considering a purchase of a Blancpain Leman 40mm Ultra SLim Big Date. I have to admit, I have admired Blancpain watches for some time now and am excited about my possible purchase.

However, also owning a Panerai and a some Rolexes before that, I have noticed that there are many deals online that are rather dramatic price reductions on the Blancapin Leman. And it makes me wonder why. My Panerai is seven years old and is worth a bit more than I paid for it. I have no intention of selling it nor am I buying the Blancpain as some sort of money-making investment. But I am curious as to why there are so many deep discounts out there for these and other similar watches (GP, Ulysee Nardin, etc).

Can anyone shed any light on this?

I would really appreciate hearing any thoughts, opinions or experiences others may have on this subject.
