Calibre 977...

The Reverso Squadra Hometime is my favorite timepiece from the Manufacturer JLC. I am trying to get some answers to a few of my questions about it's movement, the Cal. 977. I have done searches on it to try to find this information, but that led to even more questions. I hope that someone can help me out in finding answers.
A thread from April 11, 2007 was very interesting in discussing some of the differences between the cal. 87X's and the 97X's. A forum member antonioc67 said that he had a chance to observe the calibre 977 and noticed that the materials used in the movement made it more reliable and less needy for maintenance. Does anyone know what these materials are that make this movement superior in reliability and maintenance?
It was also mentioned that the finish of the cal. 977 was simpler, but perfect in execution. I was wondering what was meant by a simpler finish, but great execution and how this gives the movement an advantage over other? Also, what attributes make the movement more "high tech"?
I am very seriously thinking about purchasing one of the Reverso Squadra Hometimes, but would love to get some answers to my questions before doing so. Hopefully antonioc67 will see this message and anyone else who has a very good knowledge of the cal. 977 who can help me out.

Best Regards,
Mike
