Celebrating 10 Years with this Master Acquisition (Lots of Photos). . .

 

I decided to take my Master Moon out of the safe. I cannot believe that I've had this for 10 years now. It still sings to me like it did the first time I saw it in the flesh!

I was fortunate to acquire this in August 2005. At that time, JLC was transitioning to the Master Calendar. Although I had seen many in SS, I really wanted the PG model. After contacting many AD's throughout the country, I finally located one in the Chicago area that could assist me. Once I held it in my hands, it was love at first site!

Originally, the PG Master Moon came with a black strap. I asked the AD if they could change it to a dark chocolate strap, which they did. The funny thing is JLC started to put dark chocolate strap as the default strap on most of its PG watches not too long after that. So, I'm sure that I wasn't that only one making that request.

Granted, my wrists are small. But, IMHO, you don't need a huge watch to have some presence. 37mm works just great! Now, I just need to start wearing it more frequently!

My favorite of JLC's triple dates...harmony unsurpassed by the later iterations Don't see too many in rose gold around. It's a beauty, especially with the dark brown strap (much better than black IMO). Cheers to the next 10 years with the Master Moon. Joh... 

You last words about size are top wise. How true.

10 years, that's some time! Always great to see a lasting love. This Master Moon is worth it. Much nicer than the one which came after with the " Nike " power reserve. Bravo. And thanks a lot for this fresh post. Nicolas

The Master Moon was my first JLC, it had everything I wanted, triple date, moon, and clear caseback. Your RG case looks great with the dark choco strap! -MW

And as you said, the 37mm size is perfect. Discreet charm, a inimitable sense of style. Much better than the next version which has the PR (I found Nico's description of it as the "Nike" power reserve hilarious, and spot-on!) I adore my black-dial version...
