Chronometer escapements

G'day,

some time ago Curtis posted this picture of this 1982 tourbillon carriage:

It does have some story behind as GP?s watchmakers made a new tourbillon after disassembling and measuring a vintage one. Click here for the original thread.

Germany?s "Klassik Uhren" magazine features a little essay about vintage chronometer pocket watches by GP.
Although GP received more than 1000 prizes for chronometer watches, their success in making precision watches (and clocks) is still not very well known.

Here?s a variety of escapements as pictured in the article:

If you have a look at the vintage tourbillon watches and cages posted in the recent months, you will notice the different cages. It seems (and it is stated in the article this way), GP tried to produce unique watches. Likely the Breguet tradition not to make two examples of a watch, each of these about 25 watches is a very special work of art.

Hope you enjoyed!

Greetings from germany,

Peter
