TimeOut

Daydreaming by the Sea, Part 1

We started out with no destination in mind, except to swing by a kitchen store to look for a few items. It was too big and too full of stuff I didn’t need, but still fun for 20 minutes.

We soon got out of there and worked our way West 6 blocks and North 10 blocks, stopping at a huge flowering stalk. Here’s the Bee’s-Eye View!

Hundreds of bees were hard at work. Remember, winter is the blooming time for most succulents and cactus around here.

A far shot so you can see the scale of this plant!

It was one of many interesting specimens in this garden.

Here’s another interesting specimen, a Grand Wagoneer.

That’s American Luxury, 50 years ago.

Fake wood needs some TLC. Look at the intersection of the wood, the side marker lamp, the 4X4 badge and antenna base. Everything conflicts or overlaps. It would drive me nuts.

Lemon tree saved the day. There were several lemons larger than grapefruits!

We came to the beach access point and looked out to the SouthWest.

That big tower is a condominium building dating to before California put in a 30-ft height limit from the high-tide line going inward 1000 yards (more or less)

See the Blue Line below. The height limit is to protect views and public access to the beaches. I think InDebtButOnTime used to live in that tower.

Surfers were having fun but we were chilled by a damp wind blowing hard against us, so we kept walking.  Beachfront house has a pool and glass wall so we can look and dream...

There were a few “regular” flowers blooming.

This fun-house mirror is a garage door on a stylish house.

Pelicans punctuate the sky over this big house...

while a loudly yakking but shapely trio marched past me, baby stroller leading the way.

Back to the flowers, said Mrs C.

Let’s stop here as the pelican highway traffic is heating up.
