GP 2006: The Laureato "sapphire bridges tourbillon" is SOLD OUT
Dear enthusiasts,
two closer views you may appreciate.
It?s the only of it?s kind so far!
At the same time, it is a RARE view:

This simply because it?s sold out.
We will have some detailed input on the special challenges, which is not only to make sapphire bridges work as functional parts.
But the fine hand-made finish is not less demanding and in fact this accounts for the dark grey appearance which i think is simply breathtaking in nature and goes exceptionally well with the bridges and the gold and steel parts of the movement.
These pieces are incredibly difficult to do.
The estimated production by Girard-Perregaux is about 5 pieces per year only. With a little luck and everything working perfectly smooth, it
may be as high as 8 or 9, maybe even 12 pieces per year.
Definetely the production will not be higher, because it?s
significantly more difficult to create than a Three Gold Bridges Tourbillon.
As of today, the orders BY FAR extend 100 pieces.
There are firm orders for more units and request for additional pieces to be delivered.
The SIHH did not end, but dealers are already placing firm "blind" orders (that is, sight unseen) only for the CHANCE to get one.
The figures are such that the Laureato Evo3 "sapphire bridges" tourbillon is practically sold out - with even 20 pieces per year, the FIRM orders alone equal the production of 10 (ten) years.
The inevitable outcome is such that even dealer?s firm orders have to be cancelled.
GP currently is trying to decide on how to allocate the pieces which can be hoped for within a halfway reasonable time; final decisions are to be made, but by now it seems that not every retailers to have placed a firm order will receive one. Several dealers already received FIRM orders by end customers and NONE of these clients did see the piece in nature - there are only two in existance and both are among the highlights of SIHH.
Subsequently most probably the supply will be so limited that maybe not even all firm orders can be produced without a wait list of 5 to 8 (eight) years.
So if you?re in the market for one - RUN and give your dealer or regional GP Agent a call.
Greetings from Geneva,
Peter
