It has never become quite clear to me why some brands choose to have no hacking (Journe, Patek..etc.) watches and others the opposite? It seems it is more a philosophy for individual brands wheter a watch should hack or not?
(memory from the top of my head) I recently read in an interview with Phillip Stern that he had answered "if we wanted ou watches to hack, they would hack" to the question as to why PP watches dont hack.
But what are the fundamental ideas, technical aspects, reasons behind hacking versus non-hacking?
Would you like to elaborate on this subject? I suspect that there is not a single clear explanation to wich is "better" but I would like to hear more about the finer points on the matter.
Thank you in advance for sharing you knowledge
kind regards
