Omega

I thought the forum might enjoy this Dynamic ...

 

This is a first generation Dynamic, which is by far my favorite of the three.  Very seventies with the supergraphics, but not tacky as so many seventies designs could be.  I was fortunate to pick this up a number of years ago on eBay.  It had a mint dial, albeit with old lume, better seen in this next photo ... 

The case and crystal were somewhat beat up, but I was able to find NOS replacements, which is what is shown in the above photos.  It came with a bracelet ...

(Seller's photo.)  These were made to have the bands easily interchanged, however, so I have since gotten two original Omega bands for it.  (One is in the first photo.  The other in the second.)  I was extremely pleased to find that the movement, a 565, was mint:

So, not as classic as a fifties Connie perhaps, but still a wonderful period design IMO.

Hi Bruce Omega introduced the Dynamic ( Geneve ) as a entry level time piece. The movement is of the highest quality same as used in Seamasters of the time. The 55x and 56x series are some of the best movements Omega ever made. Where Omega "cut corners" o...

I've seen other first gen Dynamics with handwind movements. Are the 55x/56x movements more desirable? Also, why do you say that the bracelet is the key?

Hi Bruce... Work has been crazy sorry for the late reply. To find a Dynamic with it original steel bracelet is a treat . As finding replacement leather straps are a hard thing. I would have to assume that Omega used 60x caliber movements for the manual wi...

Hi Bruce The 60x movement is based on the 55x and 56x. Basically its the manual wind version of those movements. The 60x very good movement but not alot of demand for a manual wind watch in the market place,. Everyone wanted an automatic. Good Hunting Bil...
