After reading Foversta's recent post, I paid a visit to the boutique and, well, there it was, a MC in ss. I tried on the gold MC before and wasn't too convinced. This time around, the impression was a bit different. It kind of reminded me when I tried on a 40mm Calatrava from a few years back. There was that classy visual heft to it as it wasn't too big nor too small. It wasn't dressy thin but still quite elegant. The proportions of the bezel, numbers, indices and hands in relation to the real estate afforded by a dial in a 39mm case was just right to my eyes. Now, if they had a plexy on this one, that would've been fantastic. But I understand how the every day man might want a sapphire glass as watches like this tend to stay for a long time on a working man's wrist. The date window works for me as well. It is what it is... in some small measure, a way to justify the price tag of a nice watch to have a useful feature other than the time.
I was obviously excited, hence the shakes...

Then I told the lady that I had to take a better shot so that I can look at it from time to time enroute to deciding on when I should pull the trigger. She just smiled. I was wearing my Duo that day and couldn't help but notice how it paired well with the MC.

After having read Mostel's post on painted hands and all that, I want to ask this forum if the blue second hand on the MC is painted or blued? I was unable to check and compare with my Duo.
Also, I was trying to see if the new Rolex DJII smooth bezel would be a better option. I haven't seen the silver dial version yet but I have seen the black dial and white dial version. I thought it was going to be a Milgauss with date but something inside me said that while the 42mm arguably worked for the Milgauss, it was a bit "vulgar" on the DJII.
Trying on the watch that afternoon felt very good. It will most probably be my next JLC.
Thank you TP and JLC
