In defense of the Lange 1 Zeit Zone

Surely the movement is up to the Lange standards of excellence; but sincerely, is there anyone who is passionate about the styling of this watch?

Given all the negative reactions below, I'd be interesting in hearing some counterpoints.

Did the designers at Lange come up empty and decide to dump the workings of the watch into Lange's iconic model? Could this have been planned from the outset?

Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions without seeing the final version in the flesh, but I honestly don't think so.
