Kari Observatoire - Balance Cock
Hi All,
I was just reviewing some old posts on the beautiful Observatoire. There are 2 types of balance cocks, being Traditional and Tourbillon styles. Aside from the aesthetics, what is the difference? Did Kari used to use the tourbillon styles in his other watches (maybe on pocket wtches since I dont remember that he has a tourby wristwatch). Or is that in general, most Tourbillons use this kind of balance cock?

I think Kari use the Tourbillon balance cock .....
for his chronograph. This tourbilloncock allows better viewing of the balance. *CL

Yes you can see it better! it is a great view. Kari mentioned that it does not make the watch any more delicate and that the choice to use the traditional style or te Tourbillon style is just personal taste. So far, no one has a better idea of why this is...
