Glashütte Original

Limited Edition PanoReserve?? Well.....

I just purchased a Limited Edition PanoReserve in Platinum (with black dial of course). Before I begin let me say that I love it and it is my watch of choice to wear right now. (I also own a Plt Lange 1 and a JLC Master Geo). All of Glashutte's documentation including their web site states that the PanoReserve Platinum model is a limited edition of 100. Well can you imagine my surprise (and dismay) when I turned the watch over and saw 116 out of 200. I almost did not go through with the purchase because part of the reason for buying this watch was it's limited edition status. I am glad that I didn't though. It is an amazing looking watch and well .... 200 is still a limited number. Needless to say I immediately contacted the Glashutte Factory wanting an explaination. Apparently (and I do not know if this is true) I was told that the first edition of 100 was only for the German market (i.e. not available to the rest of the world) and the watches contained a sapphire on the crown. Then they created another 100 (200 total now) for the global market - without the sapphire crown. So that was their explination. 1-100 have the Sapphire and 101-200 do not. I was assurred that there will not be any more produced - 200 was the final limit.

Just thought you may like to know this..
