Hello,
It appears that as a result of my haste I may have slightly bent one of the
pieces of my Patek Philippe Aquanaut Ref: 5167A
deployant clasp -- because now when the deployant clasp is closed, one piece does not align with the other piece
like it used to when I first got it. There is now a small gap between the
two pieces of the deployant, which drives me crazy. This is my first
Patek, and it's very annoying to look at it all the time. I never
expected something as benign as this would trigger my OCD. Live and learn, I guess.
I would like to purchase either a used or new replacement deployant clasp for
it. If need be, I'm open to purchasing a new Tropical (rubber composite)
strap as well.
I would be grateful if any knowledgeable members could please provide some guidance on whether I
can purchase a used or new replacement deployant clasp for this watch online
from a reputable source.
If so, what should I be expecting to pay
(approximate range is fine) for either a new one and/or a used one in average
condition? If there's no reputable online source, I'd love to know if anyone has a recommendation for a dealer with good prices on small items like this in Chicago.
Perhaps it's because I'm a novice, but I am a little surprised of the scarcity
for a stainless steel item like this.
On the off chance there's a way one can shimmy the deployant clasp to create a
tighter fit between the two pieces, I'd love to hear about that too.
Many thanks,
BIK
