Jaeger-LeCoultre

Lucky number #7

Hello JLC friends!

I was planning a new post in the “Vintage Ad series” for my 7K post. But missed the mark while posting in the Friday WristScan… Sorry.

Vintage posts take some time to put together so you will have to do with a closer introduction to my 7 th Jaeger-LeCoultre.

The AMVOX I, SS version:

Maybe the 7 th watch into a brand is usually not that important or significant. But for me it was actually THE Beginning!

Before the AMVOX, I was all over the place. JLC, Rolex, Omega, Panerai…  Reverso-, Memovox-, Sports-, Dress-, Plain-, Complications-, …

Trying, feeling, get a grip of what I really like…

What happened when I got the AMVOX was that I realized that JLC was “my brand”!

This I had already suspected for some time, what surprised me the most was not the fact that it was JLC but which JLC.

Three out of my first six are Reverso. Now it became very clear to me that my biggest love was in fact Memovox!

The AMVOX was my second Memovox (Master Compressor was my first). Not only my second Memo, but my second Black Sport  Memovox.

And you all know where that road took me!

So for me, even if it’s not the watch that get the most wrist time – it’s important and a beloved watch!

Well, you all know my feelings for the brand.

The quality and good values (not money) the brand stands for!

Beautiful and fashionable but still low key.

A detail I love with the AMVOX is that the reason for its name actually is hidden for all except the wearer!

Which watch was it for you that changed your way of collecting? And what number did it have..?

Lucky number 7?!

PS. If you ever doubt an old love, try a new strap – it might give you the spark you have been looking for!
