More playing with varying exposures......
Catching a "bird" against a sky backdrop is a real pain for exposure metering. I am just assuming I will always get it wrong. Chose spot metering and (cheating here) with a tripod as I knew my "bird" would stay still in the sky!

spot meter for the vane and HDR seems to be the way to go... and great to see someone use a tripod ; ) So in this case the wind is out of the east... since most weather moves west to east in the northern hemisphere, I would guess (given the cloud cover) t...
