my first acquistion this year is.........

Hi Guys,

I thought I would share my first acquisition for this year - it is a Vintage Hamilton from the 1940's. Given my watch budgets were pretty low after a tough 2009, I decided to venture in to the vintage market. I have always been a sucker for clean faced watches and I just fell in love with the look of the watch. Sharp minute hand that makes it all the way to the graduated scale. Notice the wonderful font of the applied arabic numbers. It has a 917 Caliber which according to my research was not Hamilton's high end movement but I love the finish on the plates nevertheless. The coolest thing about it is the "tick". It is loud and reminds of the pendulum clock that was at my grandfather's house.  Since I have not had a chance to take some pictures, I am attaching some from the previous owner. Overall I could not have been more pleased.
