first, thanks must go to our great JLC moderator, Nicolas and our recent JLC new comer but who has in fact been with us long age, Blomman for their advice and input during the process of my hunting for this watch. as some of you may hear about this, i have been looking for vintage JLC for quite some time, in my hunting list, of course the best is to get a rare bird, i.e. Geomatic or Geophysics, but i am also interested to get Futurematic or Memovox. as long as they are in a good condition, I would be more than happy to get one. back to the story, this lovely Memovox came out of my intention. it was started when i was hanging around a flea market here just last Sunday. of course, i went to my favorite stalls that selling vintage watches. in fact most of the time, i was disappointed by all these stalls because conditions of vintage watches selling in these stalls are generally poor, hardly find a good looking one, some worse ones are even refinished or redone which can't reach to our vintage watch collector's standard. however, this time it made my past impression changed because i saw a very good looking JLC Memovox with a date function and most eye-catching thing to me is that the dial of this Memovox having beautiful blue color dial which to my knowledge - this blue color is relatively rare. this watch is in very good condition, it seems the owner wore it not very often. at the end, i just asked the price of the watch from the stall keeper and asked the telephone number for future contact because i need more information from other experts before putting my bit on my vintage JLC, although i have accumulated some experience of collecting vintage Omega. day after Sunday, I called and met the seller at one watch maker shop and asked to open the caseback to see how the movement looks like. to my surprise, i saw a shinny movement in my eyes. i also found "Jaeger LeCoultre" signed on the rotor together with "...adjusted...positions" engraved. then i further found there was a "916" engraved on the edge of the calibre. That movement, just felt too happy to see that because i remember i read this model number somewhere likely from the best reference book for JLC vintage collection published by Zaf. then i shake the watch, the rotor can freely rotate in 360 degrees which further matched with this calibre (i.e. K916). but one thing i am still not sure whether the case number and calibre serial number are correctly matched and also another thing i am also not too sure is that i saw "LeCoultre" instead of "Jeager LeCoultre" engraved on inside caseback. then i went back home to PM Nico and Blomman for some confirmation some of these observations from the watch. such fast, two days after Sunday I first spotted this vintage, i decided to buy it and bring him back to my collection. now, i just took some pics of this new comer to my collection to share with my friends here. before showing you the pics, some information regarding this watch is listed here for your information. 1. case diameter: 37mm 2. calibre number: K916 3. case number: E875 4. jewels: 17 5. barrels: 2 6. year of released of this watch (based on the serial number on the movement): 2,1xx,xxx (which means after 1970) 7. date window at 3 O'clock 8.
