Change of heart in favor of the RG Maxi Marine.
Last week while waiting for the new Maxi Marine, I purchased an Annual Marine Chronograph from my most trusted watch dealer.
Then late last week he advised me that his shipment of Maxi Marines had arrived. Having not worn, nor even had the rubber strap fitted I returned the Annual Chrono for the RG Maxi Marine.
I must say that I am quite thrilled with my new UN. It is the antithesis of the vast majority of watches in my collection, which is complications, complications.
The true beauty of this watch is its pure simplicity.
Nothing to decipher, or squint to see, just a simple, elegant, extremely legible dial. The high polished almost mirrored finished RG case, with coin edged bezel, and crown protector is spectacular. At first glance the watch is captivating, daring you to avert your gaze.
The very thin bezel makes the dial much more prominent, (similar to the IWC Portuguese), making the watch play larger than its 41 mm size.
The dial, just a tad off white is stunning with its high polished RG applied arabic numbers.
The proprietary rubber strap with its single RG logo insert gives the watch a very sporty yet sophisticated look. This allows the watch to be worn for a host of occasions, from casual to dress. To kick it up a notch UN will make available the alligator strap in October.
I am very pleased to be a new member of the UN family
