Gentlemen and Ladies,
You might remember a few weeks back I posted a question regarding the MC Geographic. I was trying to make my mind up on my first JLC, between the Amvox 1 in s/s or the MC Geo. In the end I decided that I would probably end up getting both ;-) .
Well I purchased the Amvox 1 and am absolutely in love with it, its such an incredible watch, the alarm now wakes me daily and is a nice change from the digital alarm that I am used to.
A question about the movement in the Amvox 1. Is it normal for the watch to make a chiming sound , like the hammer loosely hitting the 'bell' , when the alarm isn't wound and the time passes over the 'alarm set time' . For example , if the alarm is set for 6 o'clock and not wound , from 6 until about 6.20 ( about 20 minutes ) when the watch is moved you can hear a dinging . I have spoken to 2 people one of who owned the amvox 1 and one the MC Memovox, both said their watches suffered the same quirk. Is this a characteristic of the movement?
Finally, during a recent visit to my AD he informed me that he had seen a NEW JLC Master Compressor Geographic at a JLC event that they would be unveiling towards the end of the year , he thought it was the same size as the existing model but with a different dial layout . I am aware that there is a new MC dualmatic , but he claims the entire MC line is getting a make-over , has anybody heard anything?.
Look forward to hearing your thoughts , and will post pictures soon of my new Amvox.
Regards. James
