New shoes--warning, modem burner!
Alas, I don't have a rare, collectible PAM to showcase, but I just received an awesome new set of shoes for my PAM183 and wanted to share a few snaps.
Special thanks to Bill, who posted pix of a couple PAMs wearing vintage-style straps a while back. I PM'd him to ask where he got them and he kindly sent me the info. (I'm leaving those details out per Forum regs--if you want to know where I got the strap, PM me.) That was a few weeks ago. And this arrived in the mail yesterday. It's my first long-tailed strap and I'm loving it. It's totally comfortable and gives the Black Seal a completely new personality.
Had my first encounter with the thing that caused Panerai to create the locking crown cover found on Luminors while taking these photos. You'll notice the crown isn't screwed down. I was so distracted by the new strap that I set the time and wound the movement, but completely forgot to screw the crow back in. Only noticed it when I downloaded the photos from my P&S into my Mac. Always wondered how anyone could forget to screw in the crown on their timepiece, especialy considering what these cost back in the 40s and 50s, but there you go. Worrying about getting blown up in a war or whatever would be a lot more distracting than getting a cool new strap in the mail

Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Thanks for looking!
Cheers,
Dom
