Ocean Beach Rocks!
We took a brief walk along the cliffs today, starting at the surfer benches, where dudes and gals sit and stare at the waves until the mood strikes them...

You can climb down the dirt (unwise) or take the 60-step staircase. We took the stairs.
Even while walking along the path, it’s clear that OSHA (our safety bureaucrats) has not inspected the guard rails for awhile.

or the retaining walls either.

This is the ankle-breaking section of the trip.

We are at slack tide (neither going out or coming in) and there’s a good margin of time to make the trip without fear of being drenched.

As hard as it is to imagine, people jumped off these rocks into the water. Not this lassy,

but this lunatic leapt right into an oncoming wave.

and survived.

Not my cup of tea.
Are you kind? Kind enough not to graffitti our cliffs?

Small stub of rusty steel marks a former building site ...

We’ve reached the south side of the pier. The water is warm enough for folks to be out without wetsuits.

The beach is pretty full for 10am on Tuesday.

A few sets of people were being written up by the cops for trying to live in the parking lot, but the baby goat was apparently not given a ticket.

We decided to give the cliffs a pass for the walk home, having not sprained anything or fallen off any rocks. This is a typical Ocean Beach vehicular scene.

I refused the glass of rum the pirate’s lady offered, “It’s only 10:30 in the morning, ma’am.” I’m surprised she hasn’t caught a cold, being dressed like that.

The only wildlife of the trip (not counting the goat).
Returning to our car, we found this beauty parked behind us at the curb. Wow!

Thanks for braving the rocks with us.
