Harry Winston

OK...I have to admit it, before I am found out.

I collected my Opus 5 on 21st Friday.

I have been wearing it, even to bed, but not to the shower of course.

The thing is sooo heavy. But in a nice maneageable way.

The 3 "scales or arches" are a scratch magnet...arrgh, and some how, I have already gotten 2 tiny , very tiny scratches on it...in spite of the damned thing being platinum.

I will write a detailed post on this incredible work of watchmaking, I was tempted to say art...and I feel it is more than art. But a degree of watchmaking taken beyond the current "art" and "finish" levels.

The other amazing thing is, and this does NOT apply to me, as I am married, is that women notice this bloody huge watch. Not as a "huge" watch, but as " WOW...what is THAT? Can you show it to me? It's so beautiful!"

All this within 3 days of owning the watch, and it shows up thru the cuff of the jacket, just enough...not imposing. But definetely a superb conversation piece. It is REALLY the equivalent of wearing a concept car on the wrist.

It is very, very comfortable..incredibly heavy...I will weigh it soon, and report on the weight compared to a solid gold Panerai, as well as a Patek Sky Moon.

It can be worn by a woman...most definetely.

It has also increased my love for TOTALLY abstract and fired up designs for watches! It's like after you have compared the shapes of the Concept Lamborghinis and the Concept Ferraris...it is so damned difficult to accept the more conventional/production cars.

The Opus watches are like concept cars in many ways, except that one can actually buy them, altho difficult, I must admit...

Here it is....

Much more detailed writeup to come.
