Opus 6 to me is watch of the year...and I have to explain

I have been appoached ( to put it mildly at the fair) to say give my choice.

I explained that I did not choose any grand conplication of any multiple super duper complication watch with what I call a "WEDDING CAKE" philosophy of out doing each other. It takes only money, and a huge workforce to make a 'wedding cake" of a watch with finctions on the front, back and sides and waht have you.

BUT...

To make a watch with ONLY 1 , ONE, dial or face....and have at most ONE or max TWO complications...and MAKE THAT a CONTENDER for watch of the year...THAT is watchmaking to the extreme.

To me...this year ONLY 3 people have done that.

Opus 5 with Hamdi Chaitti, Cabestan with Vianney Halter and DeBethune with the awe inspring single button 8 handed watch (on one dial) all concentric hands with a incredible balance.

I say NO MORE.

My eprsonal judgement.

I have had ENOUGH of wedding cake complications.

They will keep on coming...more and more....I want to see complications in original, inspiring, thought provoking designs NOT Swiss Army Knife type of designs or wedding cakes!

I say these not to incriminate any company. But to give an "inetrnet" and a "print" voice ( my 7 columns in 7 magazines which I have full autonomy in what I write will reflect this).

As a customer, and I am NOT part of the press...I buy the damned things...this is my say.
