Vacheron Constantin

Overseas Special US Edition Chronograph

Vacheron Constantin lauched its Overseas line in 1996, with a basic watch in 3 sizes: large (37 mm), medium(35mm), and small (25 mm for women). In either SS or YG, many dial colors were offered, along with a limited edition set of 75 came out for the North American market, though they were not marked or marketed as being limited:

In 1998, the the Overseas Chronograph was introduced. It came in a robust 40 mm case:

In 2006 VC redesigned the Overseas, with antimagnetic protection of the movement and a still bigger case, with both versions at 42 mm.

A new complcation was added with the Overseas Dual Time, in SS, YG, and in this bold and limited RG edition of 250:

VC tried employing a strap on the gold Overseas Chronometer but the effort was a failure in the market ( no picture, alas). They went back to the drawing board and now have a special watch to introduce: The Overseas Special US Edition Chronograph. This watch is for the US market only and limited to 100 pieces.

The black oxidized dial has sporty red accents and the skeleton hands have luminous tips. Two straps are offered: the first is a supple black alligator strap with elegant red brick stitching, and the second marks a premiere for Vacheron Constantin, black rubber. Both work beautifully. I’m confident the watches in this set will have no trouble finding homes.

I can only hope that VC offers the strap as an option on future Overseas models.
