Plastic Fantastic - EmaS divers watch

Hi All

Thought I'd post a few quick shots of my EmaS divers watch. Unfortunately I don't know a lot about the brand, but it just seems to be one of the many that are following the current vogue for plastic divers watches. I have thought of getting a cheap divers watch for a while either a seiko (of which there are almost too many to choose from) or an Invict 8926 as this seems to have almost legendardy status on some forums.

While I like both and may well end up with them, I chose something that was slightly different to the norm. It has the look of a divers watch but is finished differently in that it is completely transparent. This is the different approach that attracted me, I know there have been some other interpretations of this - a really nice translucent orange (by invicta I think) and higher up the price scale (technomarine) with there interchangeable rubberised straps. The main contributor to me getting this watch was that it was available with an automatic movement - not sure what possibly a cheap miyota?

Its a big watch

For me this is a big watch, but thats the nature of divers - also as its plastic its not at all heavy.

strap clasp

the clear bracelet

One of my favourite elements of the watch is the clear bracelet - the only downside is that you can see all the crud build up on the pins that hold the links together.

dial shot

Like the dial - as verbose as any other divers watches - though nothing about chronometer status smile

The bezel rotates clockwise and seems reasonably robust - nothing to complain about here.

white movement through the case

You can see the white plastic plates of the movement through the side of the case, not sure about the longevity or servicability of the movement, but I suspect it will be disposal rather than repair if it ever goes wrong. The movement winds and has a quickset date and is automatic, but other than than that I've no idea what it is, so any suggestions welcome.

weakest link?

The weakest point is the deployant clasp on the bracelet. most of the time its fine, but when it slips down my wrist it has a propensity to pop open.

case back

Hope you've enjoyed this quick look & that you have a chance to get out and enjoy the sun this weekend smile
