question for AHCI watchmakers and others.............
I must admit, the new chat forum on the general discussion forum is very addictive. In chatting with Peter CDE and Dr. Hanke, I had a few questions regarding the customizing of a fine watch movement. In designing my own custom watch, i have found a NOS Girard Perregaux 3200 (time/date only) modern watch movement. I was intending to remove the date wheel to make it time only, providing for a wonderfully simplistic dress watch. In looking at other watch designs, i have fallen in love with the simple moon phase complication at the 6:00 o'clock position. In talking with Peter and Marcus, they suggested i query the ACHI members and other watchmakers to see how much trouble and expense this would incur, based on using this watch movement. I understand in talking with them that adding this complication is somewhat easier than your more elaborate ones.
Can someone comment on my thoughts, direct me to source that could do this, and help me in finding answers to this in general?
