Horological Meandering

Rainy outside, and thought some steel would do... an Elgin 23J dedication watch

So. yes... usually I would enjoy wearing my AP RO, but today its a grey day in Rome, and thought some steel would do.

I rarely wear this watch, but just love it too much to get rid of it!

It's a 36mm SS case 23 jewel Lord Elgin with the tonneau shaped durabalance movement produced for only about 5 years.

This one was given, as you can see in the picture, as a reward for a United States Steel Corp employee's hard work !! As you can see from the back, it's been
used from the guy's date of retirement for a long time- I have to find where the original steel bracelet is, I feel like using it agian on that!
Still keeps perfect timing after a service!

Love this watch, and its 36mm case is just perfect on the wrist! I love this case, it's the same one used on the Lord Elgin Rail Road wristwatch (the only one's ever being approved by the US railway authorities ... as legend has it!)

Have a good Thursday!
