I'm finally here! Something hit me today and I'm ready to take the Patek plunge. I've owned watches from almost every major brand, and some smaller ones....have never owned a Patek. With the recent birth of my son, the marketing has played its role....
....but I really seem more at ease and setteled and refined in my collecting ideals and objectives.
So here is what i've narrowed it down to:
5134
5053
5109
A questions for my more knowledgeable Patek friends, is the only current Calatrava with the 240PS movement the 6000?
I LOVE the way Patek does applied Breguet numerals. I love the officers case and hinged caseback of the 5053. Having a date on my watch holds some importance but the 5053 doesn't really call for it. The Travel Time is a versitile Patek, more contempory and sporty, yet still refined in the simple Patek way. Don't understand the need for the 24hr dial. I do enjoy manual wind watches.
I appreciate your insight into which watch (movement) is a better "first" choice from Patek. 215 or 315? Manual or Automatic?
Thank you my friend!
Best regards,
