RG Datograph with Silver Dial

I'm on the verge of purchasing a RG Dato with silver dial, after agonizing between it and the platinum version. I realize both are world class timepieces, and wonder if anyone can post their experience with or opinion about how the two compare. I've been told the platinum version is a little "top heavy" (I'm sure that's a problem I could quickly get over!).

I see many pro's and really no con's, other than price, to each version. Any thoughts, besides "get the one that excites you the most", would be greatly appreciated.
