This Rolex trivia is arcane if not plain silly...one of the nine Rolex cats pictured did not appear in the Rolex cat campaign advertisements (circa 1959) but did appear in a Rolex ladies watch catalog (circa 1962). As Rolex fans know, the cat campaign was one of the few if not the only Rolex advertising campaign in which a Rolex watch never appeared. The cats were drawn by the British illustrator Rosalind Hoyte and my understanding is the cats were named by Ruth Waldo, J. Walter Thompson vice-president and former chief copywriter (London office).
