Saturday photo time
Passing the time on a quite wintry day here in Seoul -- at least there is some sunlight, allowing me to take a few photos of a favorite:
Finally, a shot that shows both the blueness of the accents and the anthracite markers against the silvered dial:
Different Observatoires have different executions of the Voutilainen script on the movement. I happen to like this one best:
Neat to see the blued hairspring with its overcoil -- note how the spring is centered; when it contracts and expands, it appears to "breathe" concentrically rather than veer to one side

Down through the works -- interesting to me how the balance wheel is in motion, yet the spring appears stationary:
Time for a closer look at the dial...

Good light to catch the guilloche:
From the other side:
And, one final shot in the afternoon sunshine:
Hope you enjoyed these! All shots taken with a P&S (D-Lux 5) but even though it can't really touch the image quality of my D700 I'm pretty pleased with the capabilities of this little camera and how these shots came out.
Hard for me to believe that in a couple of weeks it will be 3 years since this ticking bundle of joy arrived from Kari, and almost 5 years from my original order. Counting the days until our January visit with Kari (the week of SIHH)!
Best,
