I wonder if you scratch an itch with enough deliberation and forethought you get to call it “guilloché”…

Anyway, I came to New York ready to buy something special to commemorate a moment in my life. I looked at a lot of wonderful watches, one in particular that I had high hopes for but ultimately found too small…

Well, I found something. “Found” is disingenuous, I keep detailed entries in my Notes app for dozens of watches I’m interested in and am tracking on various platforms. I keep links to articles and videos and try to learn as much as I can.

New York is one of the watch capitals of the world, and once again the 1916 Company was able to line up a number of watches I wanted to see on my wrist.

Look what I got! I’m so excited…

A Schwarz Etienne x Voutilainen limited edition, which in 42mm fits me nicely… and once I get my custom band from Jean Rousseau I’m going to have finally joined the cool kids with green watches!

Wear it in good health! The 1916 Co. certainly has a great inventory. About a month and a half ago they highlighted Journe and De Bethune. A joy to see. The building they're in shows you why New York is an Art Deco City.

Yes, I gather they were made in 39mm and 42mm, my SE x V is 42. The Grönefeld is magnificent, just a little lost on me. Maybe it’s the pink dial on my pink wrist…
