I'm in the market for a "big" watch and have narrowed my choices down to the GP Laureato Evo3 and the IWC Big Pilot. (The prices I'm being offered for both watches are comparable.)
This being a GP board I'd imagine most votes will go to the Evo3, but I'd really appreciate: (1) anyone's honest advice as to how these two watches compare from an aesthetic and craftsmanship standpoint and (2) any personal experiences with either watch.
Personally, both watches appeal to me because of the inhouse movement. I tend to favor the Evo3 because of the bracelet, but the dial of the Big Pilot is probably more appealing to me and has a more unique look - the downside to the BP for me is that it is only on a strap.
The chronograph complication is not a major selling point for me - if it is there, great; if not, no big deal. I've handled both pieces and honestly the Evo3 "fits" better on my wrist than does the IWC Big Pilot
Sorry for the long diatribe ...
Any and all thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.
