SIHH 2019 novelties
Hello,
Currently in Geneva attending the SIHH and thought I’d share some live photos I took of my favourite watches so far.
Obviously to me, Lange stole the show as usual with excellent offerings- I admit looking at the renderings this morning I was a tad disappointed but seeing the novelties in the flesh really showed the depth and craftsmanship that went into the pieces.
The new Zeitwerk date is proof of Lange keeping its promise to “never stand still”. The new Calibre L043.8 was built from the ground up with a new direct remontoir escapement, a pusher for the hour change- as opposed to flipping through 60 mins to change an hour- a pusher for the instantaneous date and most impressively a 72h power reserve.
The new Lange 1 25th anniversary was the biggest surprise for me as I was ready to dismiss it. Seeing it in person however changed the entire perception - it’s absolutely stunning. In addition to the beautiful stepped dial and the special engraved balance cock, the caseback is actually engraved by hand and it stunning!
The award for the coolest watch which I’m certain is going to be a big hit and a future cult classic is the Richard Lange Jumping Seconds with the black dial!
Unfortunately my battery died before I could take proper photos of the rest of the collection and only managed to photograph the 3- I upload more pics on my Instagram (@thewindingstem) tomorrow for the new rose gold dial Dato Perpetual Tourbillion which is absolutely stunning in person.
