Sinn Ref. 910: Part II
Here a couple photos of the movement without my fingers in the way:
You can see that Sinn spent some time on the finishing.
A couple more dial-side photos, attempting to show the applied hour makers- a nice touch IMHO:
Which brings me to a point I want to make.
The applied markers and the brand name (a bit more difficult to see as the coloring is lighter) are very handsomely done. But this choice seems to have been made to the exclusion of applying luminous material to the dial-which I find somewhat surprising. For me, this is a meaningless exclusion. I don't need to read the dial at night, and I have other watches I could use for that function should I feel the need. I would guess, however, that some may find that a shortcoming. Still-the very dark gray (or even black) hour markers, narrowly constructed, are very attractive. And daytime visibility is superb. Even in glaring conditions.
A more important point, and a shortcoming, I believe (not with the watch itself) is the lack of a tool to remove a bracelet link. Turns out the tool in the box is fine for use with the accompanying leather strap, but it does not work to remove links. And, to make matters more annoying, the screws for the links are hexagonal-and to remove them one needs to hold still the screw from one side while unscrewing from the other.
I had to bring my watch to my friendly watchmaker, and then watch him spend about 20 minutes fabricating a tool the proper size so as to be able to remove a link.
This I would say is the only shortcoming by Sinn. More a PIA and certainly no deal-breaker.
So now, having this piece for a week, I can, without hesitation, recommend it. Function, appearance and price come together nicely with this split-seconds.
