I just purchased a new Credor GBAQ960 only one month ago, equipped with hand wound old school Cal68. The dial never stop amazing me but it stopped working today! The feeling of fingers tells me it's fully wound but it simply doesn't move.
Now, the problem: As Credor only have official service center in Japan and I'm currently living in an European country that I don't really trust the delivery service here (they lost twice my watch books and boxes...). It becomes very difficult to send the watch over to Tokyo for service, though it's definitely a warranty case.
Another thought came to my mine is to ask local Patek or Richemont service centers check it out, assuming they are fully skilled to do the job for another brand. But my Credor sales manager told me (of course over the phone) that if anyone else outside Credor service center open the case, I will lose my warranty...
I'm in a dilemma: shall I spend 3 days and a few thousand dollars to fly over to Japan for service? Or take the risk to deliver it over to Japan? Or just find a skillful watchmaker in Europe or Switzerland to open it up?
Any thoughts and suggestions, fellows?
Btw, some learning:
1) I will not buy a brand that doesn't have a world wide availability of service anymore...
2) Cal68...the beautiful movement but really too old, done by two old Japanese masters but no improvement since decades
Thanks and best regards
