Some moments with my Grand Seiko SBGX097

The SBGX097 was my first GS, even if not by much, but does not get as much wrist time as the SBGH035. Still, it is by far the most accurate quartz watch I own with less than a second deviation from the time set in about a year and a half - the advantages of a high tech quartz movement like the 9F smile At the same time it is an easy way to enter the world of GS - the quartz models being the cheapest but offering the same peerless (at this price level) case, dial, hands and marker quality / finishing as the Spring Drive and mechanical models.

The green of the dial is obvious, if you have it on your wrist and can rotate it to catch the light appropriately but is spectacularly difficult to capture in pictures...

At ca. 37mmit it is small by modern standards but still wears very well. Never wished it to be larger, in fact. The quartz ones are also helpfully thinner than the automatic models, making it fit even more snugly.

And like every watch, it has its fun sides (pic below) smile And if you remove the croc, you can even thoroughly wash it (if the gummy bears left any residues) - like most GSs it comes with a 100m WR in spite of not having a screw down crown.

Thanks for viewing smile
